What is the NPBD and how can it help my case?

The National Practitioner Data Bank is a database maintained by the federal government which records important information about doctors and other medical professionals. Specifically, the database serves as a kind of "rap sheet" for doctors, recording any disciplinary actions against them, whether imposed by the state licensing board, by Medicare or Medicaid or even by a hospital which chooses to revoke or suspend the doctor's privileges to place patients there. The database even includes records of paid medical malpractice claims.

Be aware of these common types of medical malpractice

When you go to the doctor or hospital, you are putting a significant amount of trust in medical professionals. You expect them to be able to correctly diagnose you and administer the treatment you need. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Doctors can make mistakes just as easily as someone else. The difference is, when a doctor makes an error, either due to negligence or recklessness, it can have devastating consequences.

Work accidents cost billions every year

According to current statistics, accidental injuries at work cost over $150 billion every year. Of these expenses, $49.5 billion are attributed to lost wages and lost productive time, while an additional $33.8 billion represents medical costs associated with treating workplace illnesses and accidents. The remaining costs are associated with administrative expenses.
